Parent Committee Opportunities
To make this a great team, we ask that each parent please volunteer to serve or assit throughout the season. Please review the below description of the parent committee opportunities that we have and complete the form below and click submit, you will be contacted by the chair for the particular committee.
New Parent Committee - Co-Chairs - Judi Flanagan & Lucy Proudfoot
Help mentor new parents to become the best CNYW parents that they can be. Assist them with understanding swim meets and what times (PB) mean. help mentor them in different areas of running a successful meet. In general this committee will assist with their feeling welcomed and part of our team.
Concessions - Co-Chairs - Pam Moore & Todd and Kim Aebie
Assist with table and concession set up in the appropriate areas for each home meet. Make or ensure that all food and drinks are in good supply and available. Buy necessary items at SAM'S or other area stores. Make sure items are cut/cooked and ready to eat. Ensure that there are enough workers for the concession stand during meets and at the end of the meet ensure that deposit drops are made to the front desk.
Social & Spirit - Co-Chairs - Julie Marcum & Mary Sargent
Send cards/gifts to swimmers who may be ill; send birthday greetings. Organize social activities/events for the team. Maintain the Waves Wall of Fame and related materials to boost swimmer spirits.
Apparel - Chair - Brian Midkiff
Responsible for all team apparel including the ordering of shirts and caps as well as other materials for Zones swimmers.
Sprints - Co-Chairs - Jeff Fisher & Rick Sargent
Responsible for coordinating all aspects of the Sprints Invitational with help from the entire parent group to execute the meet. Works closely with any other host team to make sure all details are covered and assignments made. Makes sure there are volunteers for all areas for the entire event.
Meet Management - Co-Chairs - Todd Marcum, Dave Richardson, Rick Sargent & Tracy and Mark Nottage
Hang, solicit and collect completed volunteer work assignments for each meet and invitiational that volunteers are required. Organize meet volunteers. Fill any openings that need additional volunteers. Ensure all meet volunteers know and understand their role and responsibilties during the meet. There are regular duties for each meet that include Officials, Meet Manager System Operators, Colorado System Operators and Bull Pin.
Fundraising - Co-Chairs - DiAnne Richardson and Peggy Aloia
Responsible for researching and implementing fundraising opportunities to allow funds to be raised to support our team through the North Waves Parent Association.
Zones - Representatives - DiAnne Richardson and Jenny Puett (YMCA)
2011 Zones will be hosted at The Ohio State University, CNYW is tasked with specific tasks for this meet such as announcers, awards room and devotions. This committee will coordinate CNYW's activities to support the 2011 Zones Meet.
